Originally by: Dau Imperius Personally I'd like to have the ability to use a capital ship for mission running (especialy with the chages CCP might finally make to them in the upcoming patches expansion) in high sec.
The same right every other pod pilot with the skillpoints have. Do I see CONCORD restricting say an Empires capital ships for being in a high sec system? (Where does the Amarr navy drydock thier capitals for instance surely not in low sec space.) No. And realisitcally considerinn the sizes of these new jumpgates I've been seeing that can jump something the mass of a freighter, a carrier and dreadnaught are not unrealistic to have in any space (IE: Space...endless big void where size doesn't matter.)
The only responses I see here are: 'No, we want to blow the big ships up right where they are.' If missions are finally going to get some NPC love (harder?) it's only reasonable for every pilot to use all the tools at thier disposle, including ships they can use.
And honestly they already made a prescedent when they first released capitals into high sec production. (The Veldnaught is not ther only cap ship in high sec space.) I've played this game for almost six years. Just because I choose to stay away from the freaks the rest of you all are in your 'lolz world' of low sec/0.0, doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to use ships for whatever rason I wish to. Isn't that a sanbox? (No that term doesn't apply to just PvP rubbish, so wake up.)
This is assuming that high sec mission running isn't stupidly imbalanced in favor of reward already. It is though, and needs to have more risk injected into it stat. People replacing their CNRs with carriers so they can run the upcoming improved missions as easily as they run missions now just sets us back into the same idiotic state of risk-free ISK generation that high sec missions currently are.
Yes the game is a sandbox, but the same people who are now asking for cap ships and their huge tank in High Sec are the same people who asked for (and received, several times) more CONCORD protection. In other words, the same ones who took some sand out of the box that the more aggressive players were using.
